Clandestine doesn't know who he is and never will. He's a lab rat trapped in the claws of the oppressive dictatorship of a city he lives. The only things that make him different are the scars on his face and the soft flickering flame in his heart; a flame buried under mountains of suppression, a flame that only starts to burn when a boy outside the walls finds him. Who is this boy, why does he look so different and why, why does he keep calling the lab rat Clancy?

Tyler Joseph had been in the same mental institution for years. He watched room mates come, and then get moved to other rooms the next day. Tyler didn't get room mates anymore, but others did. He lived in the dark, and only left his room on days he was forced to go to group therapy.He feared the light too much. He feared he'd lose the Glowing Eyes. Eventually, they must give him a new room mate. One less "crazy" than others. They hoped he would help Tyler step into the light and say goodbye to the Glowing Eyes. It nearly worked..
