Caden Clyde Vergara lives his life on his own terms-fast cars, basketball, and quiet solitude. He's a man of few words and even fewer attachments. But his carefully controlled world is shattered when his beloved lola asks him to take in Josiah Finn Mendoza, a bubbly and incredibly annoying first-year arts student. Caden agrees out of respect, but he's determined to keep the younger boy at arm's length.
However, Josiah, or "Finn" as Caden calls him, is impossible to ignore. He's everywhere-tagging along to practices, borrowing his shirts, and calling him "Clyde," a nickname no one else dares to use. Caden's irritation soon gives way to a confusing sense of protectiveness, especially when he discovers Josiah's vulnerability, his weak immune system, and his deep-seated trauma.
As sexual tension builds and jealousy rears its ugly head, Caden is forced to confront feelings he never knew he had. From heated arguments and silent treatments to tender moments of care and explosive confessions, they navigate the chaotic path from unwilling roommates to something much more. With their friends either teasing them relentlessly or actively shipping them, Caden and Josiah must decide if their clashing worlds can ever truly merge into one.
