The thing is, you'd usually munch on the chocolates (with sneaky tactics) or peep into the letters, but you just got into your first 'serious' fight with him, that you won't even dare to bat an eye to his gaze nor his pesky admirers. For you, it's no romantic day. It's a frantic day of your frightful sulking, and you don't expect him to initiate reconciliation- if you and him ever will.
