This story takes place after Joey and Yugi graduate high school. Joey is working at a bike shop and trying to save up enough money to escape his troubled home life while Yugi takes a year off before going to university to figure things out. During this time, Yugi learns that there is much more to his best friend than he could have ever imagined and their relationship grows stronger because of this. This an AU and story does not follow the YGO storyline. Yami Yugi is not a part of this fic. I don't know if this story will be any good, but the lack of wishshipping fics is a bit sad, so I decided to write my own. I've never publicly posted anything I've written so I will be extremely grateful to anyone that takes the time to read this, also constructive criticism is always welcome. Thank you. I am turning this into the full uncut version called Punishment of Redemption, it features two Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimensions (The Manga and Anime together.) *Explanations at bottom of chapters for each Universe and gods, so you can read not knowing both versions or egyptian mythology. The Blue-Eyes dragon has arisen. The Dark Magician is lying in wait within a friend, as well as the rebirth of Mana in another. Pharoah Atem has been given a mortal body again, as well as a random egyptian of no importance whatsoever, who happened to be friends with Bakura in Egypt. These shouldn't be taken lightly. A high Egyptian Pharoah well-known even today has casted judgment against Earth, and only goddess cats of trickery even give a damn. But the way to take things back? Blood will spill. Souls will be damned. Love and friendship will be tested. The cost to play this game though, needs a gentler Universe to help pay the exorbitant fee. Treated like commodities, Atem is tricked out of his afterlife, Yugi and Tea are cursed with millennium items grafted to them, and nobody can escape payment. As Seto Kaiba found out, it won't be through a checking account but by Egyptian power and sacrifice. File changing will take some time. Eventual title change will come later. I decided to change this to the original long version due to the sequel actually having these two dimensions coming together.

Story on hiatus: may continue Yugi Motou is in his final year of high school and the only thing on his mind is studying to get into University to be an archaeologist. However, on the night his best friend takes him to a party and abandons him, he ends up being saved by the most unlikely person, a killer! He soon finds himself mesmerized by the dark stranger Yami and ends up wrapped up in a world he never dreamt he'd be apart of. But going down a dark road can take you places you've never wanted to go and bring up horrible secrets better left buried. Will this crimson eyed stranger be worth all the pain? Can someone really love a supposed killer? There are several eventual pairings in this story: prideshipping(yamixseto) is suggested, puppyshipping(setoxjounouchi), puzzleshipping/blindshipping(yugixyami), Bronzeshipping(malikxmarik), tendershipping(ryouxbakura) are the main pairings of the story. There will be hints and suggestions at others but not the focus. This will be a story featuring gay, mentions of lesbians, bisexual and heterosexual pairings. If you do not approve of love is love I caution you to avoid this story. There may be some triggers? If you feel I should add warnings, please let me know! The sort of theme of this story is romance, drama, some comedy, angst, dark themes, and trauma/abuse. If you feel it ends up getting too mature let me know and I'll tag it differently.
