Mara Ibrahim's rules to survival are: Stay quiet, blend in, and don't draw attention. As the only Black Muslim girl at a wealthy, white prep school, Mara has mastered the art of invisibility. But when the school's golden rebel, Theodore Creed, sets his sights on her, she finds herself pulled into a world of passion, risk, and unexpected tenderness And eventually Mara falls. Hard. But love was never meant to be safe for a girl like her. Not in a world that judges her skin, her scarf, her faith. Not when the whispers turn to rumors and her parents find out. Just as Mara feels herself unraveling, she discovers a journal in her backpack belonging to Hannah Cole: the quiet, brilliant girl who never spoke to her ... and who, somehow, has been watching it all unfold. Through Hannah's words, Mara sees her own story in a new light. A love worth fighting for. A silence worth breaking. And maybe, just maybe, a fall worth catching. Not just her own, but Hannah's too. Because falling hurts but rising? Rising is power.

This is my journal/diary. It's a place that I can write anything that I've learned about myself, others, and more. Here I'll write as honestly as I can. A/N I published this because I wanted someone in the world to know the truth of how I feel, maybe then it'll be easier to tell people that I already know... or something like that. Disclaimer: I do not own the cover art or any of the self-love sources that I take notes from.

A short story about a young woman at the age of 15 who is struggling with insecurities while juggling her elders expectations. This is a little reminder to be understanding to everyone no matter the circumstance. Also the name is from one of my original songs...

Can I just say, it took a hell of a long time to set up this account? Your password cannot contain 78 digits! The username you want is taken! The cover they chose for me is terrible but I have no clue how to fix it. I've had an easier time ordering an egg mcmuffin at 4:00PM before McDonalds had all-day breakfast. But enough about this tiring process, you're here to learn what exactly this one in a million (or one in five, I'll let you decide) thing is about. Well well well, I welcome you to dive straight into the world of Jo Ferris, a high school sophomore with amazing sass and truckloads of both unearned and earned confidence. It's a wonder that people are not lining up around the block to befriend this one of a kind explosion on an individual. As she navigates through high school, Jo keeps a series of journal entries (yep, she's organized like that), a series that will publicly now be available on this unknown page! Enjoy (or don't , she'll still keep writing them)...

A quick thing I wrote last month when I was feeling shitty. Written from the perspective of Oliver. Most of the things here are things that I actually thought about (and still do occasionally) but I'm somewhat better now. So hopefully it's okay.

Anorra Jane Brampton was twenty-five years of age. She was a small woman with a delicate frame, standing at five feet and four inches. She had catlike features and sharp jade eyes like her mother, a danish woman, and skin the color of cream. She kept her tousled, chamomile colored hair in braid down her back, but stray wisps hung by her elven cheekbones. Her warm smile matched the rosy color of her cheeks, and her hands were always outstretched to those in need. She grew up in the hustle and bustle of early New York City, where her parents settled in a quaint cottage before she was born. "Good Catholics" her mother called them, for they lived by the bible, but Anorra had a hidden interest in science ever since her father, a teacher, came home with a stack of textbooks on evolution when she was a child. She married Nathaniel Brampton when she was twenty-one, and gave birth to twins James and Judith soon after. Nathaniel, a real estate agent in the city, would work all day, leaving Anorra with the kids all day. In early June, 1849, Nathaniel lost his job. Stories of gold out West caught his attention, and they decided to venture to Sacramento, California by steam ship. Anorra was not too fond of the idea, but kept quiet about her disapproval. Moving out West changed her life in more ways than one, for the good and the bad.
