Llywelyn's life is cheap, in his homeland. With his grandfather dying, and his father and uncle preparing for war, as a second born son he's expendable to them both, useful only as a pawn and a life worth losing. To survive the coming civil war, his best chance is to flee to England, and from there the Holy Land, on a crusade* he can hope achieve glory as a knight, and return home with renown and an army. His only hope is to beg aid of the English Prince Richard and ask for a place on his coming crusade*. Prince Richard is the spare heir to the throne, with no real occupation beyond being wealthy, womanizing, and drinking. For years he's attempted to escape his elder brother, King Henry's clutches and go on crusade* but to no avail. Yet. But when an exiled Welsh prince arrives begging for a place in his army, what else is he supposed to do but challenge the boy to a tournament? This is an inspirational sports story. *no actual crusading occurs. Jokes aside, I'm not going to lie to you. While the events of the book center around the Baron's crusade historically speaking no actual 'crusading' occurs. it's more of an extended road trip, in which Prince Richard lies to people, invites himself to meetings he was never meant to be involved in, and couch surfs with relatives. It's really just white people, going places white people have no business, to argue with other white people. Trust me. Only white people were harmed in the making of the Baron's crusade. Trigger/Content warning: family issues discussed. Death of a parent/spouse presented and discussed. Some family related trauma. A character is said to be sexually loose (nothing is shown, brief innuendos). Some profanity. Again no crusading occurs. Racism is presented as well as some anti-semitism. A main character experiences racial prejudices. Psychological abuse/bullying. Seriously no crusading occurs.

The following months for Henry is busied with robberies, jousts, mystery, and love.

Fanfiction and OC insert about a book series called 'Skandar...' by A. F. Steadman. Topic: Unicorns but not as people imagine them, but Bloodthirsty giants. It really helps if you have read the books (at least the first one). I inserted my OC in Skandar's third year of training (but difference: Kenna was sucessfully mended to her destined unicorn instead of to a wild one by Skandar and they found a water wielder nearby to help with the staff. The stuff from the actual third book never happened (except for Skandar's training) and Skandar tries to mend all wild Unicorns to destined riders that were rejected because of being spirit wielders, just as Dorian Manning had feared before his arrest / exile - Aurora Dawson is among them. She gets visited one day... I am a new writer and still in school, so please be patient and consoderate with updates and potenial flaws. This book contains spoilers, obvliously.
