Jo didn't have a choice in moving to Hawkins, and she thought it would be the worst thing to ever happen to her. Everything changes when she meets the party, her group of friends that make it all worth it. I don't own any of the Stranger Things characters, only Jo. Jo is basically a modified version of Max Mayfield's character. I wanted to have some fun with it and make a couple of adjustments to Jo and who she is, so she isn't just a carbon copy of Max. However, her backstory and family is pretty much the same, minus some minor details. This story has lots of language in it, so if you're uncomfortable with that sort of thing I would suggest not reading.

MAYBE MONSTER-HUNTING WASN'T THE BEST FOR YOUR HEALTH, but they'd been cooped up for way too long. plus, the four teenagers looked totally badass carrying around a bunch of makeshift weapons in the middle of the woods- well, more like creepy, but to each their own. In Hawkins, Indiana, you know what the most exciting thing that'd happened was? Trick question: nothing exciting happened. Ever. So who could blame them for going to hunt the monster that took Will Byers and Barbara Holland? Little did they know, the four teenagers' hunch was more than a weird feeling, and soon enough, they got tangled into a mess much bigger than they thought they'd be in. The only way out: through. It's the week before Evelyn Byers' high school graduation, and for once, things seem normal. Her leg is nearly healed, the nightmares have gone quiet, and Steve Harrington is still hers - loyal, loving, and all-in. To celebrate surviving the chaos of Hawkins, Steve surprises Evelyn with a spontaneous mini-vacation to the Oregon Coast. It's foggy, peaceful, and nothing like Indiana. They walk along the beach barefoot, eat greasy diner food, and pretend-just for a little while-that monsters don't exist. But Evelyn can't shake the feeling. She wakes up with bruises she can't explain. Her reflection lingers too long in mirrors. The air feels charged, like before a storm-and sometimes, when she's alone, she hears it again. That low, inhuman growl echoing from somewhere inside her. Back in Hawkins, Will gets a "blip" on a device they swore they wouldn't need again. The Mind Flayer may not have been destroyed. It may have been waiting. And Evelyn might still be connected to it in ways none of them understand. As Evelyn faces the terrifying possibility that her mind-and body-are not her own, she must make a choice: come clean to the group and risk being locked away again, or try to stop it herself before graduation... before it's too late. Because if the Mind Flayer truly survived... it's not just coming back. It's coming for her.
