After the Byers family return from California, Eleven was convinced that the menacing monster Vecna was dead. Life in Hawkins went back to the way it was, aside from being segregated from the rest of the world. The military took over the small town, having Hawkins Public Library as the central military zone, surrounding the main gate. Eleven and Hopper weren't worried. El knew Vecna was gone and she could finally start school at Hawkins High school.
