Denn während Gwen, welche ihren Vater nie kennengelernt hatte, allen Männern zu misstrauen scheint, hat Juan durch seinen Vater, der viel zu hohe Ansprüche an ihn gestellt hatte, nie gelernt, wie es sich anfühlt, bedingungslose Zuneigung zu empfinden und zu bekommen. Trotz teilweise komplett gegensätzlichen Charakterzügen haben die beiden drei Sachen gemeinsam: Eine richtige Kindheit gab es für sie nicht, das Schicksal existiert ihrer Meinung nach nur in Kindermärchen, welche man kleinen Kindern vorliest und Klischees sind zum Kotzen.
