Mila accepts it, figuring they're just two people forced to share a room. But after overhearing Juju saying hurtful things about her to her teammates, Mila begins to pull away. The two go from strangers to constant arguments, creating a dorm filled with tension and words they can't take back. As time passes, Juju starts noticing the silence Mila leaves behind. She realizes she misses their conversations, their arguments, and the way Mila always saw through her. But instead of admitting her feelings, Juju distracts herself with parties and other girls, leaving Mila convinced she never mattered. Slowly, Juju starts changing. She stops chasing meaningless relationships and begins choosing Mila-showing up for her, caring about her, and letting her see the person behind the athlete everyone knows. Mila tries to ignore the feelings growing between them, especially because she has a boyfriend. But when Juju tears her ACL during March Madness, everything changes. Mila is there through the hardest parts of rehab, seeing a side of Juju no one else gets to see. Somewhere between the fights, the hurt, and the moments they secretly cared more than they admitted, Mila realizes her feelings for Juju are real. And before she can start something new, she has to let go of what's holding her back.
