When Lindsay Strauss left Lucas at the alter she had no idea that she wasn't the only one leaving. Letters and emails sent to Lucas were returned. Anything she told him were left on deaf ears. Lucas ignored her. He was marrying the girl of his dreams and believed Lindsay just wanted him back. 16 years later Tree Hill is holding the East Coast National Mixer Debate competition and a girl with the last name Strauss is signed up. For her, her family, and even Tree Hill things seem to go down hill from there.

Jude and Davis are 6 and Brooke and Julian want to add a little girl to the family. However the fall Brooke had received while pregnant with the twins and the subsequent emergency C-Section due to the rupture of the placenta has left scar tissue on Brooke's uterus which makes carrying another baby unlikely. This story follows their decision to try their hand at adoption again.

This is a next generation fanfiction story. It tells the story of Davis, Jude, Lydia, and Sawyer, the children of my protagonists of the first FF. After a time leap of fifteen years, babies and toddlers have become teenagers with their own unique problems to overcome: the first great love, separation, loss, and worries about the future are just some of the issues the young people have to deal with. And in one way or another, their fates are all interwoven. ~ 'What the Future Holds' is the sequel to "Back To The Start'.
