The year is 2127. The world is now not even a whisper of what it once was. Children are given cards with their fates in them at the age of 16. I recently turned 16. My card tells me a life I never want to live out, so I won't. According to my history books, this land where we live was once the "land of the free and the home of the brave" but now it seems nobody here is brave, and we certainly are not free. My history books also tell me that there has been no rebellions since 2021. My rebellion will be the first.
