He sat there for a minute, his eyes downcast. Slowly, he reached out and grabbed her cheek, turning her head to the direction of him. His touch was gentle. Soft. Unlike the other guys in her past. His face softened when he saw the stray tear resting beside her cracked lips. With the most caring touch, he carefully removed it with the pad of his thumb. You could see the exhaustion written all over her face. He placed his forehead onto hers, the strong smell of cheap beer attacking his senses. "Give it time, Ken. The things you feel right now are just temporary," he paused, sucking in a breath and continuing, "I will always be here for you no matter what and I hope you know that.
