Chapter 1: The Dream We Shared
Isagi Yoichi and Michael Kaiser began as rivals-two strikers constantly fighting to prove who was better. But somewhere between their competition, their shared dreams, and the way they understood each other on the field, something deeper grew between them.
Kaiser became the person Isagi couldn't stop thinking about.
Then, one rainy night, Kaiser left without giving Isagi a proper goodbye.
Years passed.
Isagi became everything he had dreamed of becoming. He won matches, scored goals, and became recognized as one of the best. Yet every victory felt incomplete because there was always one person he wished could have been there to see it.
Then Isagi learned that Kaiser was in the hospital.
When they finally met again, all the feelings Isagi had buried came rushing back. Anger. Regret. Longing.
"Why did you leave?"
Kaiser admitted that he had left because he believed staying would hold Isagi back. He thought loving Isagi meant letting him go.
But Isagi revealed the truth.
Kaiser had never held him back.
He had been the reason Isagi kept moving forward.
They had spent years trying to forget each other, only to realize that some people remain in your heart no matter how far you run.
Isagi took Kaiser's hand.
"Even after everything?"
"Especially after everything."
For a moment, they were no longer rivals.
They were simply two people who had once shared the same dream.
And as the rain fell outside, Isagi remembered everything they had been-and everything they could never become.
"Oh, you were a good dream,
smoke and ashes from the letters I'm burning,
no fairytale ending if there was no beginning.
Is it even worth it to reminisce?
How do you grieve for a love that did not even exist?"
Maybe Kaiser was only a dream.
Maybe their story was never meant to have a happy ending.
But Isagi knew one thing:
If there was another lifetime-
he would still look for him.
