Sometimes even happening all at once. You can also look at the proverb as something positive. When something good comes your way, more is bound to come. You're not worth much past a glance. That's just how it has been for you. You don't have a lot going for you. No special abilities or big ambitions. All you have is a small sum of money and a will to survive. It's not much, but maybe it will be enough to carve out a small chunk of this vast world for yourself. But somehow you catch a boy in your class's eyes. And they don't leave you. Even as time goes on he watches as you change and adapt to the turbulence weathers of life. And yet he somehow always gets surprised when he catches you looking back at him.
