Kì'lana believed she was amongst the last of her clan.
With a mark on her face, damning her to remember what she was supposed to be "grateful" to have survived. She kept it carefully covered with paint, ensuring no one she came across would know. There would be too many questions, too many words of sorrow. Too much guilt on her shoulders.
But she had only been a child.
Who could be grateful to survive something they didn't know was happening?
And who could go months without realising that the dreamwalker they worked with...was the one partly responsible for so much loss in her heart?
And why did it take the patience of a Trr'ong warrior to make her feel seen again?
