Taking place after the events of Angel Beats!, Otonashi finds himself having memories of himself in some kind of afterlife. Wanting to find out what these memories mean, he finds the people from his dreams such as Yurippe Nakamura and Kanade Tachibana so that he can put the puzzle together.
