But in the process, Kaneki finds himself wanting to protect and love Hide. When Hide and Kaneki cross paths, things change drastically.

After being kidnapped and tormented by a gang of ghouls, Hide hopes that Kaneki will somehow save him, despite the fact that he hasn't seen or heard from the guy in over 6 months. Hide's wish comes true, but facing his ghoul best friend is a lot more complicated and scarier than Hide would have ever thought. (Cross-posted from AO3)
