He'd expected her to say friends, or to at least settle on allies, but her real response was a fist to the gut. "Was Jordie just an investment to you too, Kaz?" Kaz went still. Inej's eyes widened slowly in realization. "Kaz, I-" she started. "No," Kaz murmured, "My brother was not an investment." "I didn't mean-" "-And I lost him," he snapped his gaze to her with sudden force, "But you know what I don't lose, Wraith? I don't lose on my investments. I always invest wisely. I always read the market. And I always turn a profit. I intend to do just that."

The fear that Kaz struck in people often made them overlook Kaz's, right-hand man. Jesper Fahey, Kaz's very own sharpshooter never missed, even when the shot seemed impossible. There was a reason Kaz kept him as close as he did. While it was easy to play off as it was Jesper's endless skills with a gun and the uncanny ability to talk himself out of almost every situation he found himself in. It would take one particular job Kaz takes on for the crows to start to see the deeper reason Kaz kept Jesper around.

Life in the Barrel has never been easy, and it isn't about to get any easier. Kaz has some intel on the one and only Pekka Rollins being back in town along with a new plan. How will this mission play out and how could the Crows Finally rid of Pekka Rollins? This just reminded me of all my favorite fantasy series relationships. Idk why... It doesn't really remind me of kanej, but just the idea of it does. The way he looks at her when she's sitting on the roof. That is EVERYTHING and this gives me the same vibe. Also page 430 is the quote from Kaz about Inej's laugh...sooooo yeah

This is my first oneshot book and I am beyond ecstatic! It will mainly contain Kanej, possibly sone wesper and helnik. Aswell as platonic ships. Requests are welcome.

What would Jordie think if his little brother died in some nameless alley because he couldn't conquer some stupid sickness inside him? What anyone think if Dirtyhands was bested by some nobody looking to make a quick buck? Another thought came less easily, but managed to mount icy fear and prickling hot shame more than any other, What would Inej think? She had said she wanted him without armor, and now that it had been ripped away, he was going to die. She would come back from her year at sea and find him long dead and gone. Would she care at all? What if she had let him go? No. She wouldn't do that. Inej had always believed in him. She trusted him, cared about him, and never, never gave up on him. Everyone else had, hadn't they? He had to survive the night. Even if it was only for the childish hope, the small, stupid hope that she might come back to him someday.

I found a jordie lives fic a few days ago, and since then, I've been obsessed with them, but since they aren't many fics about it, I decided to write down my own version , I'm not really sure how many chapters this will be , but it'll probably be more than 5. And please consider English is my not my first language and it's sooo hard to write in another language, specially when your not a good writer :> But then, English is not my native tongue, but I may learn to speak it yet :) Sorry not Sorry This is highly inspired by a fic I read but I don't remember the name. In a modern-day Ketterdam, Kaz Brekker is just trying to get along with his 'perfect, loving family' (They aren't.) This is a retelling of the musical Next to Normal with our favorite Crows- and a big brother- along for the ride! I have of course changed some things from the musical to fit in more with the characters of the Crows, but the basic plot will be the same! No need to know the show either, it's a full story in and of itself!

What if Jordie never died? And Inej wasn't in the wagon when the slavers came looking? What would happen if they met as Kaz Rietveld and Inej Ghafa, when Inej's family comes to perform in Ketterdam? But Kaz sees her walk the high wire and he feels certain he knows her even though they've never met. Why is she so familiar? Why do strange memories he's never experienced keep leaking in when he looks at her? Something dark is hiding just beneath the surface. Perhaps they can fight it off together to figure out why two people who have never met know each other so well.
