Kaneki Ken falls in love with the beautiful Rize Kamishiro. After finding out she is a ghoul, the two get into an accident where only Kaneki survives. In fear that bad rumors will spread, Kaneki is suddenly adopted into the Kamishiro household under surveillance. With this sudden change from being poor to rich, Kaneki struggles to keep up with his new life style.
