Kantara is a mystical, epic folklore series set in the ancient forests of India, chronicling the delicate balance between humans and local deities. The story unfolds how divine powers born from Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva - Panjurli (the boar deity), Varaha-Simha (the tiger deity), and Brahma-Rakshasa - descend to the mortal world. Kantara: Chapter 1 is an upcoming Indian Kannada-language period horror fantasy action thriller film set during the reign of Kadambas of Banavasi written and directed by Rishab Shetty, and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, under Hombale Films. It is a prequel to the 2022 film Kantara.
