In her first life, Kairi spent most of her days in the hospital. Doctors came and went, shaking their heads. Nurses dutifully recorded every change in her condition. Her parents... well, their visits became sparse over the years. Awaiting answers as to what was causing her illness and with countless empty hours to fill, she picked up painting, crocheting, reading... soon, her room was full of projects, but nothing could fill the two empty seats beside her hospital bed. Then, she died and met God. "What do you wish for in your next life, child? Whatever it is, I'll get it for you." Health, money, smarts... she could ask for any of those, but she knew what she really wanted. "I want... a kind family who'll stay by my side, no matter what."
