All I remember is my family and information about myself but I can't seem to remember anything about my friends. The doctor told me I can leave the hospital but before I could leave he asked me two important questions: Do you want to try remember your forgotten memories or forget and start a new life? I believe that if I play karuta I hope I can regain some of my memories but still I don't know what to decide. Nanami Ayuzawa used to play Karuta. She was a rising star, rivaling the talent of the current queen. But something happened, and now Nanami never wants to play Karuta again, completely giving up on her dream. When she meets her old friend, Taichi, at her new school who happens to be in the Karuta club, Nanami is offered the chance to play one last time. And also to help Taichi win Chihaya's heart. When you're an underclassman (kohai) in high school in Japan, your upperclassmen (senpai) set the rules, in fact, they ARE the rules. In exchange for the kohais' allegiance, senpais are their mentors and leaders that the younger ones aspire to. They are nurtured and together, they cultivate the brotherhood of the very special senpai-kohai relationship. But some senpais are just, simply, so, much, much more influential than others ;-) Hashtags of chihayafuru and karuta included due to content in chapters 15, 16 & 17.

Put in the effort and it'll work out. But sometimes no matter how hard you try achieving your goal seems impossible and to Watanabe Hanako it might as well be. No matter the thing she engaged nor the amount of effort she poured in it seemed she'd never succeed. Now moving into highschool she hopes for things to turn out for the better. But one burning question remains; Karuta started it all but will it be how it ends?

The power is within the cards... Who created these cards and brought about the power within have been lost to time. These cards summoned beings from other worlds to fight for those who held control. Only those that ruled the world held these cards within their grasp, kept under close guard and only used in time of war. The poems are full of deep meanings that can be about deep red love, bravery, warriors' soul, history, beauty, art, wit, a story, expressions, experience, a life lesson, parables or inspiration.
