They have to kill the dragon and defeat the witch, maybe just don't need to eat any apple. A kiss save the main character. These are the usual fairytales. In my story, there are humans whom have actual problems. In New York the dragon is the killer and the witch can be the girl who takes the man from you or maybe the other bad guy. The princess is a homicide detective, and prince charming is a somewhat famous writer, our palace is a book signing place maybe a house in Tribeca or the police station.
