Kate booked a flight to come home after 3 days spending the holidays at Clint's. The one constant question burning her mind was how would she pass the time in a huge empty home since she turned her mother in Yelena on the other hand knew she hadn't completed her mission to kill Clint. It didn't feel right, for once she couldn't do it. But she was left with a bittersweet taste. She longed to know more about her sister. This is a story about how two seemingly different people emabark on a journey of discovery about themselves individually and each other. And what better time to do so than holiday season in New York?

Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop. Two young employees notice that even though their coffee tastes horrible, two particular people keep coming. - Kate remembers Yelena from the incident with Clint, and the time she broke into her house, offering her boxed macaroni that she stole from her cupboard, dousing it in an extremely unhealthy amount of hot sauce, acting like it was her house to begin with. Oh, and also the times that she tried to kill her. Both in the elevator and on the roof with her idol. Yelena wouldn't be happy about that, because as she said, "I DID NOT TRY TO KILL YOU!". How did she find her job, and is Clint still alive? - Michelle remembers...someone. She remembers someone that loved her. She didn't know who it was. She often looks down at her broken black dahila necklace and doesn't remember where she got it. It was her favorite flower because of reasons she didn's disclose to other people. There's a hole in her brain. Not physically, because that would be fatal, but mentally. She knows someone should be there for her. She doesn't know who. She remembers glimpses. Of Spiderman, of all people. Who is Spiderman, and how did this boy named Peter Parker know her initials?

yelena's not exactly the most emotionally fluid person in the world. she knows anger, she knows grief, she knows sadness, she knows happiness, she knows love. but she doesn't always know how to handle it. so when she ends up on her big sister's couch in the midst of a depressive episode, natasha's desperate to do anything to help her, including sending her to therapy. yelena hates it.

Kate and Yelena don't get along. Nor have they ever since the Incident back when Yelena moved from Russia in sixth grade. But it's already too late to back out of the play. And Natasha is always saying Yelena needs friends her own age. And Kate's pretty sure something odd is going on with her mom. And there might be a puppeteer behind the scenes, carefully orchestrating events to fall into place exactly when and where she wants them to. But when events start to spiral out of control, three girls who've barely spoken before are forced to collaborate to fix something that might destroy each of their lives in a way nobody can predict.

Kate and Yelena learn how to navigate this super fucked up world together, finding friendship in each other and potentially, if they're ready for it, something more.

after natasha dies suddenly in the midst of their senior year, kate finds herself dealing firsthand with her girlfriend's grief. she's trying her hardest to not let yelena be consumed by her grief, but god, it's hard.
