They pull, and pull, and pull. Time is up. Thomas refuses to give up, and so, during the dangerous portal open-ups, the search for Minho is continued. But now everything goes to plan. Friends are lost. Secrets are spilled. Katniss much make a choice. Stay in this new world and find a way to close these looming portals, or try to return home by throwing herself into any given portals? Glue can't stick things together forever. Things come apart. Katniss could be lost in time. Forever.

After building a relationship back home in District 2, they both volunteer for the chance of winning The Hunger Games. They have their ups and downs, and both lash out at each other. But no one can doubt how much love they have for each other. But times change. Clove experiences things which change who she is. She has this inner demon inside of her which can strike at any point in time. Is the games really changing who she is? Cato notices that his beloved friend is changing, at there is nothing he can really do to save his partner. Will he be able to sort her out? Or will the games change who she is forever? In this book, the games are completely changed so I can have a little more fun with Clove's alter ego :D

It is fairly unlikely for a 12 year old to be reaped, as they only have their name in usually under 10 times. it's even more unlikely for it to happen in a rich district, like district 2 and it almost never happens that no one volunteers in that 12 year old from district 2's place. Unfortunately, for Evergreen Sallow she is constantly put in the most unlikely situations. Evergreen Sallow is only 12 years old when she is reaped for the 71st annual hunger games, she expects someone to volunteer, like a lot of tributes do, but no one does. As she is training for the games the realization sets in, this is happening for real. All of a sudden Eve's two years of training feel like nothing against the older children, some of whom have been training for 9 full years. But when she is put in the arena, Eve realizes she is much more capable than she seems.
