Victor of the Sixty-Eighth Hunger Games." Katniss expects someone loud. Another Career. Another arrogant victor draped in Capitol beauty. Instead, Ivy Rose stands perfectly still. Dark green fabric wraps around her arms like vines, and there's something unsettling about the calm expression on her face. Not cold exactly. Controlled. "Capitol called her the Thorned Rose," Haymitch says. "Mostly because they needed something pretty to distract people from what she actually did in that arena." Peeta glances over. "Which was?" Haymitch lets out a dry laugh. "She poisoned half her competition before the bloodbath even ended."

"My advice is always ruin the friendship, better that than regret it for all time..." Haymitch narrows his eyes, "You've trained for this." She smirks a little, "I'm from District One, obviously I've trained." "No," he shakes his head, "You're different - you're not arrogant, you're confident." It's her turn to roll her eyes as she redirects her gaze to the sunset, "Yeah, well, I'm a Blessing. I was practically raised for this. My brothers set the bar pretty high." His eyebrows raise at that, he'd heard of her family. God, practically everyone in Panem had heard of her family. Because every time a Blessing child had volunteered for the Hunger Games, they didn't just win - they entertained.
