After the grueling Victory Tour and word of uprisings across Panem, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark find themselves back in the one place they never wanted to be: the Capitol. But this time, they aren't the ones in the arena. With the special twist of the Quarter Quell delayed by the Capitol for a year, Katniss and Peeta must mentor two new tributes for a standard Hunger Games. But the districts are restless and with President Snow's looming threat to kill her family, Katniss must decide how she wants to save her tributes from the very Games she just escaped. Dannielle Véres became victorious at the simple age of 12 after somehow winning the 71st Hunger Games. From there though, her life became a misery and all that she longed for was some kind of normality to her life, and more than anything, to see The Capitol go down into flames. The first chance of hope in over 3 years, that Dannielle sees is in Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Could they finally help her put her plans into motion? Or was Haymitch's advice of 'never if gaining allies' going to prove itself time after time again?

This story is based on the characters, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. They both are from the hunger games trilogy, which is a beautifully written series by Suzzane Collins. "I genuinely believed every word-" "I know you did," He smiled thoughtfully, "I've never heard you say a single thing that felt scripted. You always just- say what you want to. What you're thinking I've always enjoyed that about you." "Except I don't Finnick," Kaianna scoffed, "not always anyway." "And not right now." He corrected. "Not right now," Kaianna agreed. Her green eyes shined with an emotion that Finnick recognized immediately, from feeling it himself. They understood what each other were feeling, and exactly what was being said without words. Which was good, considering neither of them had the guts to say it out loud, "probably not ever." "That's not true." He smiled knowingly. "The point is," Kaianna dodged his belief easily, "my view on you is starting to change. I've been able to see you from a different perspective, and I never would've let that happen on my own." "I believe that." He chuckled. "Don't take it personally," She shrugged. When she looked in his eyes, she knew he somehow didn't understand where she was coming from, "everyone I've ever loved, has been stolen from me. To get to know someone, is to let yourself care about them, and all that does, is put them in danger. In my experience at least."

When Katniss and Peeta Mellark was teenagers, they gave up a baby for adoption, so she could have a good life. When their daughter fourteen years later knock on their door, the reality kicks in to shock them. When their daughter has no where to live the judge assign Katniss and Peeta to temporary custody, much to their daughters dislike. Katniss and Peeta tries to do everything right, but somehow it all just goes wrong. Are they going to gain their daughters trust? Or will it all just go down the hill?
