Joey sure was tired out from exams, finally getting to relax for the weekend lounging around in his home and possibly eating a mouthwatering microwave snack.

"I like ya lots and there's plenty o' reasons for dat. Yer kind, yer funny and ya don't judge others by their status and stuff. But what about me? Why would someone like ya like someone as plain as me? I ain't a ladies' man like Duke or da King o' Games like Yuge. I also ain't a rich boy like Koyba. Da last thing I need is for Tristan ta be da better guy than me." Despite the fact that Joey was showing you his most vulnerable state, he had even tried to make the whole rant sound less gloomy by pulling the comic relief into it all. "They're way more awesome than I am, so why me?" "I... I guess I'm more of a dog person."

Joey Wheeler and Seto Kaiba have been dating for a year. Kaiba only started dating him because he thought it would make him more popular. But Kaiba has been cheating on Joey. When Joey finds this out, he leaves and goes to America. It's only when Joey is gone that Kaiba realizes that he was actually in love with Joey and he is heartbroken that he's gone. Years later, Joey Wheeler is a school teacher and when he hears that Duel Academy is in need of new teachers, he decides to apply. But he knows the school is owned by Seto Kaiba, his ex, so he decides to dye his blond hair black and he changes his name to Katsuya Jonouchi. As he is teaching a new generation of duelists at Duel Academy, he ends up bumping into his ex. Can Joey find it in him to forgive Seto? "Under that paper is a business proposal I wrote up for you. The years are growing more tiring for me." Business proposal? Joey's fingers only lingered a little more on the paper before sliding it off the desk and reading what was under it. He skipped some lines, just skimming over it lightly before his eyes settled on something. 'Upon the terms and conditions of this contract, Kichirou Tsuda places upon the responsibility of Joseph Wheeler to take ownership of the company, Tsuda Steel and Construction.' For a moment, time stood still. Everything in the universe halted, even Joey's breathing. His eyes kept its stare at the paper, reading over the line again and again. ---- 6 years after graduating from Domino Highschool, Joey found himself working under a construction company. His dueling career had a crash landing a year after graduation thanks to Seto Kaiba. Tournaments had started rolling out new ranking systems for duelists to enter into higher ranked ones, the ones where money and fame was on the line. Kaiba of course, had always led these tournaments and had made sure Joey's was ranked lower to keep his filthy paws off the market. After a year, he gives up, working under a construction company to keep his hands busy in the meantime. Finding a new hobby and passion, he's content with his life and motorcycle to keep him sane. Although, one day his boss brings him in for something important, finding out he wants to hand the company down to Joey. What he doesn't know though is that Joey's employer has a contract with Kaiba Corporation. (Really wish now I would have use the JP name for jou 😞)

This is basically a series of self-indulgent one-shots (with a bit of a story) because I love Seto Kaiba. Very much.

It's been a few years since graduation. Joey thought that nothing would change... yet everything did. Who could've guessed that even Seto Kaiba would change? But is it for the better? Or for the worse?
