Utah native Kieran Wild moves to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming a director. It's easy to feel small in a big city, Kieran if faced with tough decisions when life pushes back. . . . This short story was written for the Katy Keene challenge. I enjoyed the challenge of telling a story in only 500 words. I fell in love with this character and I hope you will too. I'd love to one day expand this story into a full novel.

This short story is about the nineteen year old Katy Keene. Katy has grown up in New york with her mom and dad. Her mom was a fashion designer and died a few years ago in a car crash. Katy is trying to be as good as her mom and feel the same love for designing clothes. But is that really what she wants or is she just trying to keep her mothers dream alive?

Life is hard. It's got its ups and downs. But it definitely has some twists you would never expect. What happened when you let life almost ruin you? Is there a way out of the darkness you put yourself for so long? This is more than just my personal passions, my life, past evolutions. This is how my curiosity will one day be my future, and how it'll help me overcome my past.

Time is ticking down for me to achieve my dreams. If I want to pursue my dreams, I must start sprinting now so I can finish the marathon. And let me tell you, finishing a marathon is no easy feat.
