It's the year 3012. A thousand years have passed since the Great War, the one that decided the future. Taking place on December 21, 2012, this war changed the meaning of the word "right." Punishments were made harsher, as we became more obedient to the Cause. This is my world, my life, and my story. My name is Kayleen. Nice to meet you. History books don't even begin to describe the chaos of the Great War. It was started after one scientist discovered the full mechanics of the human body and by a fluke, managed to create a being much like a human, but better. He managed to duplicate his findings, and thus created a race that is now known as the X-Med. The X-Med are a race of superhumans with the abilities to speed run, react faster, and a special ability that comes at the age of sixteen. Something about responsibility, I guess. Another special thing -- the main one, actually -- is that since we do not need a female and male together to reproduce, our family systems are different. Every family has two Parental Units and one Subject. Females have two female Parental Units, while males have two male. It is against the rules for a female to fall in love with a male. Even worse, a human. Never did I think I would be the first to break those rules.

Prince Ryker has seen his mom, grandfather, and great grandfathers success in a Selection, so he decides to have a Selection of his own. __-__-__-__-__ The caste system has fallen. Everyone is an equal. Chloe Lee Dari is a photography teacher. If the caste were still alive, she would be a Five or a Two. Chloe is not your average girl either. She often has a substitute teacher in her class so she can stay with a birthing mare, or a sick horse. Did I mention she owns a horse barn too? The care of the sweet animals is another caste all together, an Eight. When the Selection notices come out, Chloe is entered by her younger sister. Arya can't be in the Selection, so she volunteers Chloe instead. Will Chloe be chosen, or be able to stay behind with her horses, as she would much prefer? __-__-__ This Selection fanfic takes place with Eadyln and Kyle's (not the official winner yet, but I think he will be) son, Ryker James. I think by then the caste will be dissolved.
