After The Heir's devastating end

I loved the heir and cried when it was over and then when I read the crown I was disappointed. Here's what I wished happened. (Hint it's a KEADLYN fanfic )

The overall reception of fifth and final book in the selection series has been less than satisfactory. Many would say this is due to it feeling rushed and I dare say the majority of Selectioners felt Eadlyn ended up with the wrong person. In this alternate ending which jumps in right after Hale leaves in Chapter 29 but right before she goes to propose to Kile, Eadlyn gets a visit from her mother that sets her thoughts on a course she realizes she should have been on all along.

Eadlyn Schreave is many things... a princess, a self-declared fashion lover, the future queen of Illéa, but is she willing to throw her life away for the sake of a diversion? What if she prioritized herself over the smoke and mirrors? And what if something very real began to grow between Eadlyn and Kile on their own terms? Hence, "What If", where Eadlyn's choices in the Crown are revisited, and she may be presented with a way to have her true happily ever after.
