The noise started just before dawn when the surrounding farmers woke up to tend to their livestock. Animals braying in the fields filled the dimly lit hills, acting as a baseline for the loud morning to come. Next would come the baker and then the blacksmith and only then would other shops begin to open. Dex tapped a stick of charcoal on the edge of his notebook. He'd head into town around that time, dropping off a few of his parents' remedies, picking up more chicken feed, and checking on Monsieur Elwin's backdoor hinges. They always seem to creak around this time of year and the older man couldn't quite reach the upper ones by himself. Maybe he'd lend Dex some of his alchemy papers... (I return from the grave with a Keefex Beauty and the Beast AU in which I thought way too hard about the worldbuilding.)

This story is UNFINISHED and will not be completed (I'm sorry) this is my first actual story that isn't oneshots so please be nice! Might be a little OOC There will be no smut 😊 Updates may be slow so maybe just put this book in your library and wait?

This book is discontinued so I won't be updating If you see this book you probably like kotlc. If that is the case then you probably know of Dex. If you like Dex, read this. "Hey." "Do you want to hack the Registry?" His eyes widened on instinct. Some part of Keefe would probably never get used to his friend's causal espionage even as it barely phased Dex anymore. "Of course, although should I ask why?" "It's nothing too bad." From the small screen, Dex turned away for a second, organizing some tools on what must have been his desk in front of him. "I'm just checking some Registry files for security stuff." (Keefe and Dex hacking the Registry in Unlocked was too cute for me not to write. Also, this is my piece for the 2022 Kotlc Secret Santa Exchange hosted by Song-Tam. I had a lot of fun making this, so I hope it turned out.) Dex couldn't tell if he wanted to kiss Keefe, or suffocate him with his own stupidity. -- Keefe brings Dex out on a double date he was asked to, but - ah - things don't exactly go as planned... and now they're famous.
