Keepwriting Stories

In my process of writing and illustrating comic books, sometimes I get the urge to write out and share a beautiful scene that I just feel with in my heart and this will be a collection of these things. Nothing will be planned to correlate tho I can't garuntee at some time or another I'm reinspired to continue or re-write a scene or two.

I'm a huge fan on Wattpad and other writer platforms, and I am a super-fast reader and I go through a lot of stories so I have a few pointers that I really feel some of you should know about. These are things that really, really, irritate me (and other readers) and will keep us from finishing or following your story. I can't tell you how many stories I will stop reading after a few chapters because of the things I'm outlining below. If you want to be a successful author, please pay attention to these things. I'm not writing this to discourage writers, on the contrary, I'm writing this because I want to help writers. Sometimes you need to hear from those of us who just read.

A series (A Lot) of short stories that mostly have no connection or similarity, but I need to write something every day, so here you go. (Most might just be rambles about worlds I came up with, or brief character descriptions that don't have a real story.)

The whole world was normal, not until an elite family saw a merman with a bright blue tail and rainbow eyes. The family who saw the merman owns a big seafood factory. It was a big advantage for them to make their business grow even more. They kept the merman because they thought it will make them more powerful and lucky. The world became greedy. Everyone wants to own the merman. Luckily, before they get him, a girl saves him. A girl who was adopted by an elite family, the family who found the merman. But, who will know that because of the disappearance of the merman, it will change the world- the cruel world. Your writing is never worthless, keep going. Everyone who puts their heart into their words has a surprisingly similar experience. You look back on work lost to the endless sweeping sands of time (in this case, five minutes ago) and absolutely hate every. Damn. Syllable. It really sucks. Sometimes you'll feel like you should listen to the monster in the back of your head telling you to burn your laptop (No? Just me?). In times like that, it's just super important to remember that success is never a straight line. Those words are a part of your story (in both senses) and you identifying that room for improvement is seeing a window to a future full of flourishing. As cringe as it sounds, your mind (and the world) is a beautiful mess. It's our job as writers to show this. Keep writing and don't worry, It makes sense that your literature would be too.
