Lady Marian of Knighton has committed the ultimate sin. She has killed the Sheriff of Nottingham, in a desperate attempt to save the king's life. But now, she is a prisoner of Sir Guy of Gisborne, having been caught in the act. Robin Hood, hero of the poor, has been duped by the very people he helps, in a terrible twist of fate. Trapped in a barn in Nettlestone with his men, he awaits certain death in the morning, and only thoughts of his beloved Marian see him through.
