Lara has always been used to the stark normalcy of her everyday life. Working as a document handler for the Bureau of Education, she aspires to have the most comfortable life opportunity could offer. Finding her place in the incredibly rich kingdom of Istrifdence was a step towards that dream. Her entire life is upended when she happens upon a strange ring that seemingly came out of nowhere. From there, things begin to veer from their course as she is attacked by a Child of the Dark, and is saved by stranger she knows nothing about. All of a sudden, she becomes involved with the Soulkeepers: disciples of an entity called the Lightbringer. Tasked with maintaining the balance between the forces of light and darkness, they serve as the secret protectors of humankind. That is, until Soulkeepers suddenly start disappearing, one by one. With their numbers dwindling, their mission of balance becomes one of self-preservation as they search for the perpetrator.
