The Planetary Union starship, the Orville, is currently hosting a group of soldiers from another union of planets known as the Phoenix Federation. Many of the leaders of the Federation are descendants of humans who left Earth hundreds of years ago, and they now possess a military force that rivals many nations combined. Following their first contact, the Union was instrumental in ending a Thirty-year Era of war with the Federations neighbor the Alumri Dominion. These soldiers are on board the Orville as part of the first co-deployment effort between the two unions, with the hope of building a brighter future together.
