It ruins Hero's memories. It turns Aubrey's grief inside out. It makes Kel look at his best friend and see a stranger. And Basil-Basil already knew, because the lie was his idea. But the more they learn, the harder it becomes to pretend Sunny has not been punished enough. His mother is moving him away. His father is gone. His home is not safe. And Mari's little brother, silent and half-blind and drowning in guilt, may not have anyone left unless the people he hurt choose to reach for him anyway.
