"Why don't you wear those in public?" I ask my brown haired friend, pointing at the large clear lenses on the bridge of his nose. "You can't see without them, right?"
"Unlike you, I wear contacts, Kres. Look 'em up," he replies, not even taking his eyes off of the homework he "skipped" in class.
"I know what they are, Genius, I just don't want them. I prefer my glasses," I snap back at him and all I gain is a smirk from the dimpled boy.
"You don't have to get contacts, Kresley Jeen. You look good with glasses."
I ignore his comment and carry on with my own thought. "Why do you wear contacts? You look fine with glasses,"
He finally takes his eyes off the book and throws his head back in a sarcastic laugh. "Please, these glasses are the size of China for crying out loud! If I wore them in public, I would be laughed at!"
I purse my lips and shake my head, disagreeing with every word he says. "Why do you care what people think? You shouldn't let people change you."
"I'm not letting anyone change me. And I won't let anyone change me."
"Promise?"
He hesitates for a moment, probably thinking that I won't notice the short pause, but eventually he replies with, "Promise."
