I fell headfirst into the "maribat" "fandom" and you know what? I'm loving it! I stopped watching Miraculous Ladybug in season 3 and my knowledge in Batman is limited, but... let's give it a shot. Should Marinette know better? Probably. Her father, John Constantine, had raised her to know not to mess with magic, and even if he didn't, being cursed to be unable to lie when she was around 6 would have done the trick, but you can't really blame her for being chosen to wield the Ladybug Miraculous when she was 14. Can you blame her for not telling her father or the JL right away? Probably. Now Marinette has been hiding the "Paris Situation" from her father and other magical family members for 2 years, dealing with all the aftermath of magic on her own.
