Assassin Connor Kenway has killed Charles Lee and is taking a hiatus to let his sounds heal and simply breathe. When he finds an injured stranger in the woods near his homestead, he heals her wounds and expects she'd be gone by winter's end. He finds that he has a fondness for her that he doesn't quite understand and wants nothing more than to protect her, though his assassin lifestyle may be what puts her in the most peril.
