Ghostlight (or: A bunch of Short Stories about Hermitcraft) A Hermitcraft AU that will be updated on occasion, more of a background project. This is my take on an "Ask or Dare the Hermits" situation, but with an overarching storyline. Read the Preface for more information. Please note: I understand that the Hermits are real people, and that they should be treated with dignity and respect. I do not associate myself with the Hermits or Hermitcraft server in any way, I'm just a fan with an idea.

Often people think the name of the game is control, corruption, destruction. They say it like it's a warning, like there's still some grand moral line left to cross. Truth is, they're right. Always were. Unfortunately, spending eternity trapped in a void wasn't exactly part of the winning strategy. Turns out power stops feeling impressive when there's nobody left to rule and nowhere left to stand. That's why I needed their help.

Centuries ago, the world was as it is for you. Humans hunting, animals living, and evolution expanding. But, humans got greedy. They wanted too much, they used whatever they could find to get what they dreamed of- good or bad. They went to science, to alchemy, to the dead practices of their ancestors. And they paid the heavy price for trying to get more than they needed. Now, animals run free, humans live in hiding, cities and towns overgrown and used by any- just not humans. The world has been taken over by a different race, humans and their new "rulers" living separate, one fearing the other, 'the other' fearing 'one'. The rulers, the species that was created by humans, they were ones that never should have been possible. (Two weeks After the events of 'Hermitcraft: Gifted) Tango feels a strange call to a cave at the shore. His eyes are brighter red. He has wings again. He must go back home. But he doesn't want his destiny. He wants to stay with the hermits, and you know; stay as the Jingler? But secrets don't remain hidden forever. Now, Tango must journey back to the Demon Lands to find home. And maybe convince the hermits (and himself) that he only wanted to check it out and go back. But there are problems. As secrets spill, he must find a way to stay safe from the demons who are after him for various reasons, keep his friends safe, and keep himself both physically and mentally intact. No one knows untill a bug glitches into the server as he resets it. Everyone remembers every reset and blames him. All untill he tries to reset it one last time, causing the small bug to turn into huge curruption in everyone and the server. Eveything turning into nothing but a currupted mess they can't leave from. The server then was split into two groups. The glitches. And the survivors. The two groups stayed in different sides of the server at first, understanding the damage they could end up doing to each other if they didn't. But the glitches grew hungry for the power, the anger and aggressiveness in them growing, the only way to stop it was to satisfy it. Xaiden Bennett (xB) was the new kid in town. Recently moved from 'a galaxy far, far away' (As a friend puts it), he ends up in Hermitcraft Boarding. Quickly making friends with Wels and Keralis, he thinks everything and everyone is good and normal. But let me tell you, it's far from that. He learns that Wels is also friends with the two ghosts that live in the dorm down the hall, and also learns that Wels was the last person seen with the ghosts before they were mysteriously murdered. Will he be able to figure out the secret Wels is hiding, or will he realize that he has been focusing on the wrong thing the entire time...

Magic has always been a thing, From enchantment tables to command blocks, it has always lent a hand in Server life So when an accident occurs and stray magic, mixed with a charged explosion, hit a select few hermits, morphing them into hostile mobs, how will the fix it? Will they overcome the new urges they discover with the aid of the other hermits or with they succumb and attack their fellow Server goers. Most importantly, what do the beings of the void have to do with the events that play out, and will the HermitCraft server ever return to normal?
