In an AU, those with gifted blood are trained their whole lives at a special academy. When the gifted turn nineteen, they will receive control of one of the four elements - earth, water, air, and fire. Kyra is a 13 year old girl who has gone from foster home to foster home since she was 8. Kyra is OBSESSED with Pentatonix, so when Kevin Olusola comes to the orphanage where Kyra is living she freaks out. Kevin has been looking for the right kid to adopt, so when he meets 13 year old Kyra he falls in love and adopts her. Kyra now has to adjust to going on tour, going to Pentatonix rehearsals, and living with Kevin and Avi.

When Pentatonix is going on a trip to New York City, their plane takes a detour and crash lands in a forest in Manitoba, a place where most of them are unfamiliar with. Will they survive, or will they die in the cold, dark forests of Canada?

What would happen if PTX were to split up? Could they end up getting back together or will one member's life altering event change that? The 1st book in the 'Kaplan Diaries' series. Completed.
