The ninth entry of the 2022-2023 Film Journal takes a look at the 1990s classic, "The Bodyguard". Alongside examining the central romance of the film, I discuss the significance of '90s cinema and the special reason why this film has been on my watch-list for several years.

Maybe I was destined to be doomed. I didn't know it would take this long. He should've died then and there. And she should've minded her business. But neither of them did as they were told. And I wondered if anything would ever be fair in my life. I had walked for what felt like 800 miles. But it wasn't that much. But I knew it was a while. I got to a part of town that I hadn't seen.
