Maísa Nancy Solís Hassan, a San Juan native and soon-to-be ex-resident, exposes many aspects of her life, according to the child of a Muslim mother, Amara, and a Christian father, Miguel. When Lucía Bárbara Bashir Harun and her family move to the island from Dallas, Texas, Maísa must teach her the ways of a Puerto Rican, to someone whose father was raised in the same environment as his children, by way of Egypt.
