Synopsis - Placement-Takes places After "Kwaku Anansi S6 "and "Pain & Ink S1" Following the battle against Polaris in Pain & Ink's explosive finale, Amanda Waller arrives in New Haven, seeking the attention of Mosi Carter / Kwaku Anansi, the God of Stories. Waller knows the world is changing-gods, metahumans, and cosmic threats crossing dimensions-and she intends to weaponize it before it consumes Earth. Mosi agrees, reluctantly, to let Khalil Payne / Painkiller lead a new iteration of Task Force X. Metahuman Jennifer Pierce found herself in love with Khalil Payne, except it seemed that fate did not want them together. Khalil was paralyzed by a bullet, which caused an evil man named Tobias Whale to form a deal with the striving track star. A robotic spinal implant was placed in his back so that he could walk again. Khalil soon became a runner for Tobias' mob, but was not repaid with gratitude. Tobias ripped out Khalil's robotic spine and he died a painful death-or so we thought. In reality, Payne was taken by a government agency called the ASA to become a weapon. They saved him, trained him, and implanted a brain chip that controlled his mind to the point that he killed his own mother with zero remorse. Khalil's alter ego, Painkiller, was a ruthless and twisted part of himself that was hidden but desperately needed for Khalil to survive. Painkiller was tasked to kill the Pierce family, however, Jennifer had powers of her own to keep everyone safe as her father was a direct relative of the first metahuman, causing her and her family's electric powers to be stable. Now, Khalil was brought back by TC, another metahuman whose abilities let him talk with machines. However, Khalil has several mental battles with Painkiller, which cause Jennifer to say she can no longer love him for who he is because he's become a weapon. He leaves in search of his true self, but what really will happen between Jennifer and Khalil with Freeland falling apart as a result of Tobias' return and destruction? This fanfiction is based on season 3 of Black Lightning, so I suggest you watch that before reading the spoilers in this story. Content is based on the Black Lightning Comic Book & TV show. It's your typical girl meets boy story, but with superpowers thrown in the mix, also add enough baggage from their pasts to fill a commercial airplane. We'll see how this goes. (Based on black Lightning)

Circa 2019 before season 3 began. Freeland, Black Lightning and family deal with the aftermath of season 2. I wrote this script in 2019 to submit to the WB writers workshop. IT didn't go anywhere obviously but I spent a long time writing it so I figured I should still put it out there. Its on the long side so if you like that kinda thing enjoy! Keep in mind this is before season 3 and 4 so a lot of things are not current but I still think its a fun read.

Basically, I believe that Jen and Khalil deserve a happy ending after everything they've gone through, and I intend to give them one after I make them suffer a lil bit, just because 😈😈
