After JJ's tragic death, John B is left struggling to understand how to keep going. The grief is suffocating, and he finds himself lost in the weight of it, unsure of how to move forward. The story follows John B, Sarah, Kiara, and the rest of the Pogues as they navigate a world without their best friend. John B's pain is raw, and the grief ripples through each of them in different ways, especially Kiara, who is unable to cope with the loss at first. She dissociates, pulling away from everyone, while John B tries to stay strong for his unborn child, a future he's trying to hold onto

Pogue Tallulah (Ta-lou-la) Dawson had known nothing more than the OBX all her life. She lived outside everyday, whether it was in the water or on the beach, she was constantly a struggle to keep inside. A wealthier Pogue living in the Cut with friends from Figure Eight and the Cut, she struggles to find the right boy for herself. In love with Rafe Cameron, she results in an unwanted deal to attract him. JJ Maybank was known for trouble around the island and had a blast everyday smoking weed and drinking beer. Without any priorities, he's ready for the gold hunt of his life. However, when JJ's advised to smarten up and get out of his rut, he too must make an unwanted deal. A deal that includes both parties coming together for two completely different outcomes. A teenage story like the others; two foreign people must put their differences aside in order to become one and rule the persona's around them. Living on the kook side of Outer Banks had never been a problem for Dylan, other than the fact her only friends were pogues. And the fact that Rafe Cameron made it his business to have a personal vendetta against the entire group. The alcoholism and substance use might've had an effect on his view of the pogues, but at the time he had nothing on his mind other than sex,drugs,etc, and of course, Dylan.
