Told through an omniscient narrator, who through the use of poetic prose, didactically interprets the trials and accomplishments of the main character as he overcomes himself and grows tremendously because of it. Although a fantastical account of an imaginary boy in an imaginary world, Jamal, the main character, relates to the kid in us all, and our shared quest to thrive happily through life uninhibited by the tribulations presented. This is a dance; this is a song; this is a poem begun the moment we took our first breaths. He couldn't express the feeling of finally meeting someone who understood everything he'd wanted to say about how it felt to be him. All he could manage to ask was, "how?"
