Annalies Van Wyck was no stranger to the rich life, her father was the Mayor and that meant she was expected to be what most rich girls are: proper and good mannered. But her father won't allow her to see any boys unless they're fancy rich guys and the newsboys were prohibited, that is until she runs into Kid Blink and the two soon find a liking in each other. Then one ride on a Carousel changes their lives forever!

Like Jack Kelly, (Y/n) (L/n) eventually escaped from the Refuge (NOT on the back of Roosevelt's carriage). She tries to live her life as normal as she could, but what happens when she is running from Snyder and the newsies don't know her true gender?

The newsies have grown up. It's 1914, a year after Kid Blink passed away. But Jack is not allowed to forget him so easily; he's given a letter signed by Kid Blink the day before he died, giving Jack vague instructions, and more confusion than anything else. There's one thing he does know, though: he needs help from the newsies. And even when that mess is taken care of to the best of its ability, now they have something new to worry about: World War I.

Avery DaSilva is a lower Manhattan newsie with a friendly and perky attitude. The other newsies love her and she loves them, well, all accept one. Tommy Boy seems to bring the worst out of the redhead as the two constantly bicker. Behind her perky personality, Tommy can help but feel she is hiding something. He's not entirely wrong, Avery absolutely refuses to talk her time at refuge, even with her brother. With a strike beginning old memories start to resurface, nearly breaking her in the process, and Tommy Boy might be the only one who can help her.

Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. Sorry about that, but since they aren't the main focus of this story anyways, hopefully you won't change your mind about reading this purely on that. - I made the cover using pictures off of the internet so credit to Google Images
