In her voice, the stones hummed with a strength not heard in an age. Her feet found paths no map had marked. Her laughter stirred echoes in crystal halls and in her silence, mountains seemed to hold their breath. She was born beneath the light of a dying star, the mountain's breath warm against her cheek, her mother's song a lullaby in a language now forgotten by men. This is me regaining my dignity by fixing 'The Shifter', a book I wrote three years ago. She is the last of the Shifters, a race superior and rare. On this adventure, she meets Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of twelve dwarves, a hobbit and a wizard. When her mate is just in reach, will she find him? What if it is someone within the company? When an old enemy returns, will she be able to face them, or will she fall to the thorns?

Emeril has always been alone her whole life, a wandering elf. However one night her path crosses with the company of Thorin and she is drawn to them, plagued with curiosity about their quest and of one of the dwarves in particular, Emeril can't stay away from them, whether they like it or not. There may be some Kili love in this story depending on where it goes..
